COLIBRI is an observatory hosting a 1.3m diameter robotic telescope equipped with a panchromatic camera. It is operated from the National Astronomical Observatory of Mexico, in San Pedro Mártir, Baja California, Mexico.

COLIBRI has many scientific objectives, the most notable of which are:

  • The follow-up of the alerts of the Sino-French SVOM satellite.
  • The follow-up of other types of alerts issued by LSST, A-LIGO and Virgo, KM3Net, etc.

It will be partly open to the French and Mexican scientific community.

In order to prepare its scientific exploitation, France and Mexico have set up the ERIDANUS Associate International Laboratory.
