Localization

COLIBRI is hosted by the San Pedro Mártir National Observatory (OAN) in Baja California, México. It is located at the coordinates 31° 02′ 41.52″ N, 115° 27′ 52.13″ W with an altitude of around 2800m.

It is an excellent northern site: it has seeing similar to Mauna Kea in Hawaii and better weather than either Mauna Kea or La Palma. Its relevance is heightened by the absence of legal and cultural impediments to development.
